Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 8 June 2026By downloading, installing, or using the Zo application ("Zo", "App"), you ("User", "you", or "your") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Zo. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. These Terms apply to users worldwide. Nothing in them removes or limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country in which you live (see Section 16).

2. What Zo Is — A Well-being Companion (Not Veterinary Advice)
ZO IS AN AI-POWERED PET WELL-BEING COMPANION THAT HELPS YOU TRACK ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND BEHAVIOURAL PATTERNS, AND MANAGE DAILY ROUTINES. ZO PROVIDES GENERAL WELL-BEING INFORMATION AND SUGGESTIONS ONLY.
Every blueprint, insight, and Well-being Suggestion is for general informational and educational purposes and to support your pet's day-to-day well-being. Zo is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and must not be relied upon for any veterinary or emergency decision.
Always consult a qualified, licensed veterinarian about your pet's care. If your pet shows signs of distress, injury, illness, or any urgent condition, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary service immediately. Well-being Suggestions are based on generalised information and the data you enter, which may not reflect your individual pet — if a suggestion does not feel right for your pet, do not follow it.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use Zo. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@thezoapp.online if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Your Responsibilities and Your Pet's Care
You know your pet better than anyone. While Zo aims to provide helpful, tailored Well-being Suggestions based on the information you enter, you remain solely responsible for your pet's safety, diet, environment, and overall care. AI-generated outputs are based on probabilities and generalised data and may not be accurate for your specific pet. Trust your judgement and seek professional advice whenever you are unsure.
5. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information and your pet's information, and forms part of these Terms. By using Zo, you acknowledge the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Zo only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- use the App in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
- reverse engineer, decompile, hack, disable, interfere with, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful data;
- harass, abuse, or harm other users or Zo staff; or
- submit false, misleading, or inappropriate information, including about your pets.
7. User Content and Licence
You retain all ownership of your User Content. To operate and provide the App, you grant Zo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, securing, and providing the App's services to you. We do not use your User Content for any other purpose without your consent, and this licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for copies retained as required by law or held in routine backups for a limited period.
8. AI-Generated Content
The App uses artificial intelligence to generate Well-being Suggestions. These outputs are generated automatically, may contain inaccuracies, and are provided as suggestions for your consideration only. They are not professional advice and not a decision made on your behalf. See Section 2.
9. Intellectual Property
The App and its Content — including features, algorithms, AI prompts, interfaces, graphics, design, and compilation — are owned by Zo and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written consent.
10. Third-Party Services
The App may link to third-party websites, services, or offers (such as pet-food brands, toys, or veterinary clinics). We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices. You use them at your own risk and subject to their terms.
11. Subscriptions and Payments
Basic features of Zo may be free; we may offer premium features through paid subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription, you agree to pay the applicable fees and taxes. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed through, and billed by, the Apple App Store or Google Play in line with their terms. Refunds and cancellations are handled according to the policies of the relevant app store. Where you are a consumer in the UK, EU, or another jurisdiction with a statutory cancellation or "cooling-off" right for digital purchases, that right applies in addition to the app store's policies.
12. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that Well-being Suggestions will be accurate or reliable. This Section does not exclude or limit any warranty, guarantee, or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including mandatory consumer guarantees (see Section 16).
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zo and its directors, employees, partners, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, any third-party content, or any reliance on a Well-being Suggestion.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under the mandatory law that applies to you. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zo and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful or negligent use of the App. This Section does not apply to the extent a loss is caused by us, and does not reduce your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Term and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or where required by law, giving notice where reasonably practicable. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Settings → Privacy & Data. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, 12–14, 16, and 19) will survive.
16. Your Consumer Rights
If you use Zo as a consumer, you have legal rights that these Terms do not override. Depending on where you live, these may include statutory guarantees that services are provided with reasonable care and skill (for example, under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law, or the Australian Consumer Law). Where mandatory local law gives you greater protection than these Terms, that local law prevails to the extent of any conflict.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where your local law gives you that right. Before starting formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at contact@thezoapp.online so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
18. App Store Additional Terms
These Terms apply in addition to the terms of the store from which you obtained the App. The following apply where you obtained it from the Apple App Store:
- Parties: These Terms are between you and Zo only, not with Apple. Zo, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Licence scope: Your licence is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Maintenance and support: Zo, not Apple, is responsible for any maintenance and support; Apple has no such obligation.
- Warranty: If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Product and IP claims: Zo, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the App, including product-liability, legal-compliance, and intellectual-property-infringement claims.
- Legal compliance: You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government prohibited or restricted-parties list.
- Third-party terms: You must comply with any applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data plan) when using the App.
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you obtained the App from Google Play, you agree to the Google Play Terms of Service, and to the extent of any conflict those terms govern your acquisition of the App.
19. General
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. These Terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App. We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here, update the "Last Updated" date, and provide additional notice of material changes through an in-app message or email. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
